Equithérapie - CHV

Equitherapy at the CHV

A Societal and Sustainable Commitment

Equine therapy is part of the DNA of the Club Hippique de Versailles. The human-horse relationship being a major part of horse riding, it has always seemed natural to us to make this wealth available to people who could fully benefit from it.

The CHV is one of the main equitherapy centers in Ile de France and collaborates with many associations and professionals. It is important to specify that equine therapy cannot be improvised, a simple ride on the back of a pony or horse is not enough to fulfill the mission of this discipline.

A LITTLE REMINDER ON WHAT EQUITHERAPY IS

"Equitherapy is a psychic care mediated by the horse and dispensed to a person in his psychic and bodily dimensions"

French Society of Equitherapy -SFE

It is aimed at children, adolescents and adults with psychological, motor, psychological or social  difficulties. The therapist establishes an individualized therapeutic plan and the horse then becomes a mediator.  A triad is created between the patient, the therapist and the horse, thus promoting the care given to the person.

The CHV is giving itself the means to improve the care and support of people with disabilities with:

Supervision of specialized and trained professionals

It is essential for the proper support of each individual that horse therapists have equestrian and paramedical knowledge.
the CHV works with 2 dedicated and trained workers to welcome and manage all types of disabilities.

Sophie DEFILHES, BPJEPS teacher and equitherapist (FNT - National Federation of Therapy).

Mme Malissa WALKER, Psychotherapist, rider and graduate in psychomotricity.

Appropriate cavalry. 18 horses

Although the horse is by nature gentle, favorable to man and patient, the practice of equitherapy requires a collection of horses (2) and ponies (7 double-ponies and 9 shetlands) able to lend themselves to this mediation between the rider and the equitherapist.

Fitted out facilities

The CHV has PRM-type access for its facilities (rides, careers, club house, toilets) and a hoist.
