Unique equestrian facilities

The CHV provides riders and owners with numerous, modern and comfortable eco-responsible equestrian infrastructures for its members as well as for its horses. Spread over 3 hectares, not including direct access to the national forest, the CHV facilities represent an area of more than 10,000m² suitable for horse riding: 4 riding arenas, 2 arenas, 1 round pen, walker, paddocks , showers, farriery, 3 club houses with changing rooms, 3 tack rooms, a care area, etc.

A selected cavalry

More than 100 horses and ponies constitute the cavalry of the CHV. In order to preserve the physical and moral health of our equines, we pay great attention to the number of hours worked by each horse and adapt the mount of each according to the corpulence and the level of the rider. Our cavalry is rigorously selected, maintained and renewed. After good and loyal service, our horses and ponies enjoy a nice retirement in the meadow.

School

The Club Equitation de Versailles is above all a riding school affiliated to the French Riding Federation. Our riders are supervised by a team of experienced professional teachers, concerned about their progress and their pleasure on horseback or pony!

A professional training center

The CHV is also a recognized federal center for the training of student leaders (AE) and monitors (BPJEPS). Every year many graduates leave our center with a solid and decisive training for the rest of their career.

A societal and sustainable role

The Equine Club of Versailles is part of a societal and sustainable approach, in partnership with the town hall of the city of Versailles and the departmental council of Yvelines. The CHV welcomes school groups and children from disadvantaged backgrounds during "discovery" sessions as well as people with reduced mobility in equitherapy.
For more than 20 years, the CHV has been resolutely committed to another type of riding, that of the psychological care that the horse and the therapist can bring to people who may need it.

Le Bien être animal

Animal Welfare

Animal welfare is at the center of our concerns. It is a question of placing our horses and ponies in an environment adapted to their physiological and behavioral needs. Because each of them is unique, the location and size of the boxes are variable. We provide specific equipment for each morphology and the discipline practiced. Regular veterinary and dental care is provided and work and rest times are individualized. We ensure consistency between the mount and the equestrian level of the rider. Outdoor relaxation areas are dedicated and we serve quality controlled food to all. Of course, our cavalry benefits from an annual rest of several weeks in the meadow each summer, guaranteeing the balance and happiness of our horses.

More importantly, the training of our teachers is a real vehicle for raising awareness and educating our riders about animal welfare. The practice of horse riding is a whole, “riding well” is not sufficient and satisfying. Respecting and above all loving each horse or pony according to its needs, whether in the box, on foot or on horseback, are the key elements for the practice of horse riding.
